Taking the ritual destruction of loudspeakers as its starting point, blowout stages the miraculous repair of ruptured membranes, cones and diaphragms. Here, broken consumer electronics become impossible flame-eaters who swallow smoke and fire, belching out sound upon their restoration.

The installation was presented at platform BUNKER, Copenhagen, in July 2026, and developed with support from KODA.

Accompanying the installation, the text Rituals of Sonic Destruction (2026) examines subwoofers, proxy deafness, and the curious pleasures of pushing sound beyond its limits.
