S McEvoy’s (IE/DK, 1987) multidisciplinary art practice investigates the forms of belief, desire and mythology that animate and contaminate technologies, bodies and systems of mediation. 

Using sound, writing, consumer electronics, found media and vocal performance, McEvoy enacts scenarios of diversion and reversal where speakers absorb fire, tinnitus becomes a shared listening experience, and nature infiltrates culture.

Through these interventions, material, technological and symbolic boundaries are destabilised, allowing the repressed, uncanny and demonic to surface.
